ePassporte Banking Partner's Visa Program Is Suspended

SANTA MONICA, Calif. ' ePassporte said Thursday that its banking partner's Visa program has been suspended.
EPassport said Visa International put on hold transactions involving St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank and that it can no longer issue Visa cards and that account holders won't be able to make point-of-sale purchases and withdraw funds from ATMs.
“At this time we do not know why this drastic action was taken by Visa,” ePassporte owner Christopher Mallick said in a letter. “To us, it is unconscionable that such action would be taken without the opportunity for ePassporte to fully understand Visa's reasons and to be able to take all steps necessary to keep our program running the way it has so successfully done for over seven years. But that is what Visa has done.”
Mallick said ePassporte was notified at noon on Thursday of the suspension.
“The ePassporte e-Wallet program continues to be up and running, except funds cannot be transferred between your Visa account and your e-Wallet,” Mallick said.
“As soon as we have more information we will be in contact with you,” he said. “In the meantime please be assured that your funds are safe.The ePassporte team is working diligently to rectify this situation."
Mallick said customers can contact the company through its call center for queries.
XBIZ was unable to reach Mallick or Visa International for additional information after business hours Thursday night.

“The problem,” he said, “is not our bank. Our bank is perfectly fine. Everybody's money is safe. The issue is literally with Visa. Visa functionality is the only thing that's down, which means eCards and vCards. We are working to resolve the issue and we will have a resolution by next week, but at this point in time we don't have any more information and we will contact everyone as soon as we do have any update at all.”
When asked about the increasing concern among some ePassporte clients that their money might remain inaccessible for some time to come, leading them to seek alternative means of delivery, he said, “I think the most important thing right now is for people to be patient until we have a solution. I wouldn't move any [funds] at this point, because by the time you would receive a wire we'll either have Visa functionality back up or we will have found another solution.
“The problem,” he added, “is that yesterday we were given about an hour's notice of the situation, so there really wasn't enough time for us to prepare any sort of documented statements other than the message that came from our CEO and owner, Christopher Mallick.
“There's nothing to worry about," he stressed. "It's an issue with Visa, not with our bank. All of our functions outside of Visa are working perfectly. If people's funds are in their wallets, they can feel free to contact customer service and do a wire disbursement, but if they can wait, that would be my recommendation. I wouldn't make any hasty decisions. But we're not going anywhere; there's nothing wrong with the business. This was an unforeseen issue, and we're not exactly sure where it came from on Visa's side.”
Before hanging up, he once again expressed his hope that calm would prevail over the long holiday weekend, after which the company expects that the situation will be quickly resolved.
“There really is nothing to be panicked about,” he said. “We just have to be patient and see what the solution is. All I can say is that if we had been given more notice, we obviously would have been better prepared and would have contacted all of our clients beforehand.”
Pe de alta parte exista voci pe diverse forumuri de specialitate care sustin ca au contactat atat St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Ltd cat si responsabilii VISA , si din partea ambelor companii raspunsul ar fi fost dea dreptul HALUCINANT si anume ca nu e nimic suspendat sau gresit pe partea lor , ceea ce ar duce la o singura concluzie : cei care mint (probabil pentru a castiga timp) ar fi chiar cei de la ePassporte .
De la unii doar am auzit , pe altii ii stiu sigur , sunt unii care isi tineau "proviziile acolo" si sunt pe cale sa piarda zeci de mii de dolari . Pe mine personal "afacerea" m-ar costa putin sub 2000 , sunt asadar pestisor pe langa sumele respective ... probabil banii de benzina pentru cei care fug repede de pe acolo ...
Un alt argument care alimenteaza starea de suspans este blocarea conturilor epassporte . Am inteles ca celor care incearca sa-si retraga banii sin Wallet prin transfer bancar sau card personal le este blocat contul cu mesaje standard de genul

Eu as vrea sa citesc o declaratia oficiala din partea celor de la VISA asa cum au facut cei de la epassport. Doar in momentul in care VISA va da scris undeva ca nu e suspendat nimic sau gresit din partea lor doar atunci o sa-mi fac probleme serioase.
Atat timp cat VISA pana acum nu a declarat nimic desi a trecut o zi deja de la ,,nefericitul eveniment'' ma face sa cred ca sunt putin in culpa.
Deci asteptam sa auzim si o voce de la VISA ca sa se lamureasca situatia. Eu nu inteleg de ce VISA pastreaza tacerea???
P.S.: Daca a gasit cineva vreo declaratie oficiala de la VISA va rog sa o postati aici pe forum.

Mda vechea poveste cu gramatica ... ma io zic ca bine vo facut ePass la uni dintre voi care va dati asa mari shcolitzi ) dar nu ati stiut sa va tineti banii la saltea lol.
epassul era f ok pentru ca era acceptat de maj siteurilor ca optiune de plata, mai putin de catre xlove si ifriends. pana nu demult chiar ma enerva faza asta si anume ca nu e acceptat de TOATE siteurile, dar acum mi-am schimbat total parerea si cred ca e cel mai bine ca pt fiecare site sa aleg alta metoda de plata, webpowerfx-ifr, payoneer-lj, wire transfer-cc, si imlive ce le mai tuna, cica in max 36 de ore o sa suplimenteze modalitatile (adica modalitatea..lol) de payment. in cazul in care epassporte isi rezolva problemele cu visa, NU CRED ca as mai opta pt ei.

Wulpita nu e bine sa razi de necazul altora!Eu nu mi-am tinut economiile pe epassporte dar am pierdut banii primiti de pe cams.Chiar ma bazam pe suma aceea de bani,mica sau mare(nu conteaza).Sunt in schimb utilizatori care poate si-au pierdut economiile pe un an.Nu mi se pare funny deloc pentru ca tuturor li se poate intampla asta!Fie ca iti tii banii intr-un cont sau la saltea.Gandeste-te cum ar fii sa iti pierzi banii munciti din cauza unui incendiu sau furt.Tuturor ni se poate intampla!
